Lucy is the first in her family to attend university and plans to study pre-med out of state. Attending at least one family weekend is an important part of the college experience, but Lucy’s family is unable to afford the travel to see her for the weekend. Evidence shows that first generation students often feel imposter syndrome during their first year at college, and it is the most likely time for a student to drop out.
