Gretchen’s life was turned upside down when a massive 300-foot-wide landslide, triggered by Hurricane Helene, destroyed her home and carried her a quarter of a mile down the mountain. While she is deeply grateful to have survived, she lost her home, car, all her belongings, and now faces mounting hospital bills. Gretchen spent a month in the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries to repair her broken pelvis and leg. With her FEMA assistance depleted and ongoing struggles with her mortgage and insurance companies, Gretchen is simply requesting assistance to purchase essential clothing and personal items as she begins to rebuild her life from scratch and recover from her injuries. Your support will help Gretchen navigate this incredibly challenging time and begin to regain a sense of normalcy and dignity.
