$75 for Electric Bill
Maira is a proud single mom of a 21-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old son with disabilities. Although life has never been "easy" for the family, in recent years supporting her son's medical issues and trying to diagnose his condition have caused her to fall behind in bills resulting in a continuous downward spiral. She is currently behind on her water/sewer, electricity, auto insurance, and auto loan. Maira is employed at a just above minimum wage job. A recent absence due to covid resulted in a minuscule paycheck setting her yet further behind. She is struggling to keep a positive outlook, as any sign of stress or concern causes her son's condition to worsen. Maira is at a breaking point and feeling totally defeated. She drives around with a nail in her tire requiring daily fill-ups. She is emptying her son's piggy bank to purchase his special milk as he has extreme dietary issues. She is suffering from swollen and bleeding gums because she can not afford necessary dental work and is covering her mouth at work because she is embarrassed by missing teeth. Her own mental health is at extreme risk. At this point in time, she is prioritizing what the debtor needs to be satisfied first. A recent notice stating her water will be shut off next week is her highest priority. Maira has enrolled in a financial wellness program to try and learn new strategies for prioritizing and making the most of what she has. That, along with this relief will help Maira get caught up on a few outstanding debts that are hanging over her head and causing such distress.
